Our client is a mid-sized strategy, design and technology consulting firm that creates advanced solutions for the world’s leading investment banks, asset managers and exchanges. The firm’s services span strategy, program management, user experience, and engineering disciplines. The firm is headquartered inNew York City. Note that all work is done in-house or locally, so there is NO TRAVEL. Also, while ideal, financial industry experience is NOT required.
The company seeks experienced Core Java programmers for immediate hire.
Overview
These positions entail designing and coding server-side applications that encapsulate the workflow, processing, and business logic of the firm’s clients’ core trading business. These may be systems to manage the pricing of large portfolios of instruments; service-oriented architectures for building truly decoupled distributed systems, or data grid implementations for large-scale data-intensive applications.
What attracts most to this role is the opportunity to continually build new and complex, highly transactional software from scratch without the usual support component (support is typically handled by the client’s technology department).
Required Skills/Experience
-3 years server-side Core Java development experience;
-Advanced Java multi-threading knowledge/experience;
-Experience with real-time architectures;
-Strong grasp of software design patterns and effective development methodologies;
-BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
